I have read Road Safety book and it is comprehensive with real cases of accidents. I used the book to train team members on accident investigations, however; it is very useful to prevent ourselves from falling into the same situations.

Recently; it came to my knowledge that a local is burnt while splashing petrol on dry wood fire in order to improve burning but unfortunately he got burnt and currently at burns ward. How many cases had and have occurred and why don’t we learn?

This is my Third Arab Management Book after Psychology of Arab Management Thinking! And A Cry For Help! And my 12th book! Three books are on Road Safety and the balance are based on my columns and writings!

All my Arab Management books have been written after a major upheaval in my life at the work front and elsewhere involving my life! I was always under the impression that my book A Cry For Help! As was going to be my last book in Arab Management with the events that followed proving my case why ‘I needed help!’ as an Arab Manager! Though trying best to keep to myself – and trying to avoid conflict and confrontations as much as I possibly could – but people would not leave me alone! They were still after me!

I then decided to accept the challenge and write this book. Like the other books – I have tried to be as factual as possible – and with my usual style of writing of speaking to you directly from my heart – and to be as sincere, genuine, frank, forthright as possible – so that this book can not only be used in Research works – but as a Guide and Beacon for the children, grandchildren, great grandchildren – and future generations by the Grace of Allah SWT God – Ameen Amen.

It is my Final Attempt to High light a ‘Quickly Deteriorating Situation’ before malaise, stalemate and decadence sets in at The Work Front and its environment! In this book nobody has been spared – and that includes even myself too!

This week was very hectic and traumatic with very emotional painful and exhaustive exchanges between me and an ex boss in PDO! The irony was he had never been a direct formal boss to me in any aspects – but was instrumental in causing dent to my career – whether by his own volition or by instructions from higher up!

My mistake was copying him amongst my other ‘friends’ an email protest type to one local English daily. In a response he curtly said to me – Quote –

Majid,

Two things.

1. Avoid criticising others unnecessarily. 2. Avoid GLORIFYING yourself excessively.

That is the secret of success.

Unquote.

From the goodness of his heart – he copied this email to ALL on the list. I had addressed this direct to The Editor – and my inadvertent stupidity in including him in the copy circulation list! And giving him that opportunity any person like he was would not let go away!

Not to bore you with more sordid details, but there was a reaction from my two strongest supporters after bitter rancorous hard hitting exchanges with him. He later tacitly apologised – but asked me to take him out from my mailing list – which I was now most inclined to do anyway without any further prompt from him.

A         Response verbatim from one addressed to someone he knows well in PDO – and copied to me – Quote –

Dear Ustaadh xxx and after compliments 

In the name of Allah – With due respects Sir –  

A friend had forwarded me the not necessary response that this guy YYYYY has sent to Ami Majid. Unfortunately, people miss the very important thing that this man is highly appreciated and followed by many young Omanis as one lone voice that really cares and feels for us! 

He is one of the few that took great risks and dangers to himself even harm when even in PDO and he suffered a lot life later on because of his stand on things and everyone.

 It is very sad and tragic that you his so-called friends treat him like this and I can only assume an element of jealousy and envy – perhaps because of his popularity. You have hurt him so much and now he has decided to stop writing his websites and columns. 

Only time will tell the repercussions in the future and please accept my sincere apologies for this email. Forgive my English also Sir. 

Allah protect and preserve our country from all things bad inside and outside Ameen – Unquote!

If you want my personal advice and sent in good faith please keep away from all these people ex PDO especially because you cannot remove the hypocrisies and double standards within them.  

It will not surprise me and from seeing some of the names that they will be communicating to each other and laughing and sneering you behind your back. This is how they are and will always be! Some of them even got later in life great personal tragedies and woes in their lives and in their families but they will never learn! 

Keep away from them and even stop writing even. This is a lost cause beyond redemption and only time will tell! So please keep away! All of them combined cannot even be 20% of what you are as Majid. 

I will always pray for you and your family Amin

And finally to those that finally killed my columns – I said to them –

I see that ZZZ (expatriate person) has now taken over my columns! It will not surprise me that you will be paying him even 3 or 4 times my rate – but that is how things are nowadays! So it is not surprising to me at all. Take care and all the best! – Unquote!

Now you know why I am giving writing in this website low priority from now onwards! It was good whilst it lasted – but everything 9good) has to end one day!

The Month of Forgiveness!

• Indeed the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah (God) is the one with the most Taqwa (Righteousness/God Consciousness) – Surah Hujaraat – 49.13.
• Allah’s special mercy comes on the families (nation) that are united, harmonious and peaceful – especially in Taqwa and in the Fasting Month – The Hadith.

This Ramadhan I got a nice message for the month from one person. The number was not registered in my Mobile – but I decided to accept the nice message and send one back in reciprocity! Unfortunately, the person decided ‘to spoil it all’ by asking me if I really knew from whom the message came from? And asking me to ‘keep trying to guess’! I politely declined ‘the offer’ – and had decided to just register the person as ‘Sender Good Ramadhan Message’!

That was not enough for the person – because he did not give up! I guess the reason was ‘he or she thought I would be very much surprised to receive this kind of message from him! It seemed to me that the person ‘was keen to be found out’ – so we can take it off from that level! But if you are not telling – who am I to push you to come forward and tell me?

It dawned on me that this could be a person that I had crossed with and upset in the past – and he is making a subtle move to come forward – and say it in his own ways and styles!

The day before Ramadhan we had a family get together – because it was a long time since we had one together as one whole family – and also to celebrate some of the children finalists good examination results – and one or two who had got promoted – and of course with a new car to show the rest of us too – with the old bangers going over 7 years now – and cannot afford a new one still yet!

 

Frankly, I try to be ‘my level best’ in these types of social gatherings nowadays – and just to show you how bad things have now become in society – because definitely there will be one or two determined to get you pissed off and upset – for just some rice and morsels – and make the rest of your day to be upset and to be annoyed!

 

The thing that they can easily find fault to upset and annoy you is in your passion of writing – and nitpicking minor things to be made mountains from molehills on a driving pursuit and purpose to do their bit. They like to call it as ‘constructive criticism and feedback’ – but if you ask him to explain himself clearly in more details – than just the one sentence or two he picked out of context – he fails miserably!.

But then he will say to you that you are now becoming over sensitive – and the age element has definitely kicked in – for you to behave like this way! The question to ask here – if this can come within – who needs enemies outside? A famous Arabic expression says – rightly too! – A thousand enemies outside the house are better than one within!

Things have gone so bad nowadays – because at Family get-together times even – you get people – after years and years of being sidelined and being marginalized – have now received promotions that have gone to their heads – being contemptuous, cynical, satirical and pompous! Looking down on others the lesser lucky and fortunate in life!

Like I always like to say – a few more Baizas has changed the person completely – in an adverse – and negative way! That is why if I am not invited to any social gathering nowadays – it is not ‘sour apples’ – but honestly – I feel that the person has done me a good deed indeed!

A friend of mine had sent me this saying – which I will share with you! The most testing time for a woman is when her husband has gone poor and broke – and for a man is when he has become rich and famous! He gives me his own life story as proof of what he is saying here – when he became astute poor –and with losing his position and job! With children even – and or no children either!

So I messaged to the person – There is something that you perhaps do not know about me! I always try my level best to avoid conflicts as much as I possibly can! I also can promise you that I never cast (throw) the first stone either! But after cautioning you after several trespass and interferences – I can turn nasty to even shock you! I then come down charging – like a bull in a glass shop! Admittedly, some may even say – his reactions outdo his silence and patience at the outset. Taking it from the 90/10 principle of reacting to situations!

As a Writer, Author and Columnist – I will be naïve and stupid not to realise that I have upset and annoyed people – and will continue to do so – so long as I keep writing on in my life! Even if I decide to stop – I will upset those who want me to continue – and even write much more than before! Like Louis IV had said – Whichever side I take or whatever I will do, I will still be blamed by the other side!

In all my life and in my pursuits – I have always aimed to change the things I can do so by myself if I can do so – and if not – speak or write about it! In weak moments – yes – I have gone to the lowest levels in Religion – of saying – I am against this – but I am afraid – and have now joined in silence the Silent Majority!

Like the unfairness and injustice being faced now by me – but there is nothing that I can do on my own – though have talked about it several times in my columns here!

In the spirit, graciousness and kindness of the Holy Month – I ask for forgiveness for those that I may have upset and annoyed – and even by default and inadvertently! I still believe to speak the truth always as I see it – and ready to change my mind if shown and or convinced otherwise!

But I also feel deep in my heart and in conviction – body and spirit – that only a person that really cares, feels and does not want ‘things to go bad and or wrong’ – will tell you exactly what he thinks – for the general good, remedy, corrections, peace, harmony and for future generations, history, legacy – and for our destiny too. In that way you will forgive me too – for I will hardly change!

*   The lotus is a flower that blooms in the mud. The thicker and deeper the mud, the more beautiful the lotus blooms!

A few days back I met this good friend of mine. He was asking me as to what had happened to me – because he saw me again complaining about issues and topics – and things that I used to complain about after the business collapse in 2003 – over 9 years ago. He was asking me – I thought you had moved on – and left the past behind you? Then he told me about this great book he had read – entitled The Secret.

According to Wikipedia – The Secret is a best-selling 2006 self-help book written by one Rhonda Byrne, based on the earlier film of the same name. It is based on the Laws of Attraction and claims that Positive Thinking can create life-changing results such as increased wealth, health, and happiness.

The book has sold over 21 million copies and been translated into 44 languages, but has nevertheless attracted a great deal of discussions and controversy, as well as being parodied (misrepresented/distorted) in several TV programs. You can find more information and details of the book by putting any search engine for “The Secret”

He then went on to tell me about this film he had seen titled ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It?’ He persuaded me to see it – as it was being shown free in ShowTime – already subscribed for!

The Film is a biographical sketch of the life of Tina Turner (Actress Angela Bassett), and her disastrous marriage to Singer and Husband Ike Turner (Actor Larry Fishburne) – the man who had created her career while nearly destroying her life. She struggles to escape from under his constant abuse. The film offers a glossy but intense portrait of her rapid rise to stardom – and the jealousies and envies of her own husband – because she had become more popular than him.

Despite Ike’s attempts to woo her back, Tina Turner eventually prevails and finds solo success, accomplishing her dreams without Ike. The film shows of her courage and determination to overcome and succeed – finding within her the inner strength to fight back and overcome. She is shown as taking chances – and refusing to remain under the domination and control of her bullying husband.

There is this part that I really had liked. There is a metaphor drawn about the flower lotus. The lotus is a flower that blooms in the mud. The thicker and deeper the mud, the more beautiful the lotus blooms!

It is a metaphor meaning that in real life there is cause and effect. You can still bloom (blossom) when around you is all mud! Sometimes you are required to change your inner self first – so to cause effect and change. What it means is that the more tests in life the better person you are likely to be more of. That is if you handle yourself well – starting with your inner self first and foremost – to fight back, overcome and to succeed.

As a kid I used to see the Lotus Flower growing in the pond in our farm in Mafia Island in Tanzania – and I used to be drawn to its beauty – and always used to wonder where the flower went – because at night it would go underwater – to come out with the first light of sunshine!  It really mystified me!

Last few days back, I watched this programme The Inner War In Syria in Al Jazeera Television. It was an interview of the famous Syrian Artist, Cartoonist and Activist – Ali Farzat. He is seen to casually comment – Nothing you tell these peoples will have any effect on them! What it meant was that you are just wasting your time, efforts and energies to tell them things which they are not going to hear you first – and secondly by doing so – you are just exposing yourself to outmost dangers and risks – if not your own life even!

My friend was asking me – one time you yourself had said that you will stop banging your head against brick walls! Because in the process you only hurt your head – getting it swollen – and even bleeding! And as you yourself like to quote him (Napoleon) – Do not interfere with someone set in destroying himself!

What is written to happen will just happen! Take a full break and rest now! There is nothing that you can do that can stop anything that can or will happen – or for you to try to change things! You had said things in the 1980s – and they all came true – even more than what you had expected! Yet your own career was tainted and you were marginalized – and you came to suffer the consequences of your own actions – and your own sincerity, genuineness and feelings. You always ended as the Loser! Marked as ‘trouble-maker’ and ‘with chips on his shoulder’!

It is time to for you stop my friend! They are only mocking and teasing you – speaking evil of you behind your back! Take care now of your own health – your own life – and the time left for you on earth – for once be selfish – and just take care of yourself – your own family – your children – and your own grandchildren! The rest are not important. Take your own advice – and use it. You did what you could – and the time is now over!
